Empereur Building office property in Brussels changes hands

by Kali Persall

Edmond de Rothschild REIM has acquired an 8,850-square-meter (95,260-square-foot) office property in Brussels on behalf of its Benelux Commercial Real Estate Fund (BCREF).

The Empereur Building is located at Boulevard de l’Empereur 3-5 in the Pentagon district. The property is leased to an established law firm and several retail tenants.

“This acquisition represents a strategic expansion of the fund within Brussels,” said Robbert Bakhuijsen, head of investment at Edmond de Rothschild REIM. “Apart from its long-term cash flows it also offers a strong reversion potential. We will continue to acquire assets in strong locations and will keep sourcing new core and core plus opportunities.”

Following the acquisition, the fund exceeded €500 million ($580 million) of gross asset value.
