Echelon Data Centres and Starwood Capital Group sign new debt financing deal

by Kali Persall

Echelon Data Centres has inked a new debt finance agreement with Starwood Capital Group.

The deal involves some €855 million ($974 million) in funding, which will be used to construct and deliver four of Echelon's data centers in Ireland — DUB10 and DUB40 in Dublin at Clondalkin and Grange Castle and DUB20 and DUB30 in Arklow, County Wicklow.

“This financing demonstrates our continued conviction in the data center sector and Starwood’s long-term commitment to the Irish market,” said David Smith, senior vice president at Starwood Capital.

Echelon Data Centres now has six sites across Ireland and the United Kingdom, with a total potential capacity of up to 500 megawatts.
