DWS is planning to forward-purchase a pre-let distribution warehouse in the U.K. on behalf of one of its European real estate funds.
The site was purchased from Corby Land and Development, a joint venture between Mulberry Developments and Frogmore. The planned 715,000-square-foot warehouse asset will be developed in the Midlands Logistics Park in Corby, Northamptonshire, and is slated for completion in 2020.
The asset is pre-let to Europa Worldwide Group, a privately-owned transport and logistics company, one of the largest in the U.K.
DWS plans to actively source logistics assets in locations across Europe in the coming months, according to Ronen Ribak, head of transactions, Europe for DWS. The logistics sector is expected to remain one of DWS’ key strategic growth areas over the next year.
