DWS has opened a new Real Estate Junior Debt Strategy to investors, a source with knowledge of the matter has confirmed.
The core fund opened to investors in February and will seek to raise €500 million ($604 million) in capital commitments. The vehicle will invest in junior debt mostly secured by core and core-plus commercial properties across various sectors, with a focus on the residential, office and logistics sectors in Europe.
DWS is targeting a first close at the end of the second quarter and expects to see the majority of appetite come from insurance investors. The fund has yet to raise any capital and is in the midst of investor due diligences.
