DWS buys Vita Student housing assets for €660.5m

DWS has paid €660.5 million ($735.6 million) for a portfolio of eight premium “Vita Student” housing assets in the United Kingdom.

Vita Group sold the assets and will continue to manage and operate them on behalf of the buyer.

Launched in 2013, the entire Vita Student portfolio consists of 5,760 beds in 19 residences across 12 cities in the United Kingdom, located in prime city center locations in Russell Group University cities.

The portion just purchased consists of 3,198 beds in Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle.

“A high-end portfolio in strong locations catering to both local and international students was critical in our decision to acquire this portfolio, and to partner with a true experience-led operator such as Vita Group,” said Ronen Ribak, head of real estate transactions, Europe at DWS.
