DT Midstream joins greenhouse-gas collaboration for LNG terminal

DT Midstream has joined Cheniere Energy Inc., the largest U.S. producer of liquefied natural gas, and other midstream companies, technology providers and academic institutions, to implement quantification, monitoring, reporting and verification (QMRV) of greenhouse-gas emissions from midstream systems serving Cheniere’s LNG terminal.

The collaborative intends to improve the overall understanding of greenhouse-gas emissions and further the deployment of advanced monitoring technologies and operating protocols throughout the natural-gas supply chain.

Researchers from Colorado State University and the University of Texas will conduct the QMRV work. The measurement protocol, designed by Cheniere and partners, will be field tested at facilities owned and operated by partners of the collaborative, including DT Midstream’s Haynesville assets.
