Digital Realty has officially “powered on” the 50-megawatt Digital Loyang II (SIN12), its third data center in Singapore.
The new 34,000-square-meter (365,972-square-foot) facility will be located adjacent to Digital Loyang I, or SIN11, and less than 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) from Singapore’s CBD. A. William Stein, CEO of Digital Realty, noted that the new facility will be one of the most energy-efficient data centers in Singapore.
The Digital Loyang campus is located close to the Changi North Cable landing station, a key subsea internet hub for the region. Digital Realty said the two facilities will be linked via diverse high-count fiber routes, enabling customers to connect directly via dark fiber cross-connects and providing up to 50 megawatts of critical power capacity to regional and global customers.
The project is partially pre-leased to a major Singaporean multinational banking and financial services corporation, along with a global cloud provider
