Digital infrastructure update and market outlook

“2020 was a very active and dynamic year in the digital infrastructure sector,” says Brandon Hunt, portfolio manager at Strategic Capital Fund Management. “COVID-19 highlighted that connectivity is essential and demand is surging for digital services. That demand is being driven by trends such as remote work, connective home entertainment, online learning, telemedicine.”

Hunt continued to explain that Strategic Capital Fund Management is seeing double-digit growth in areas such as ecommerce as well as the ongoing deployment of 5G mobile broadband across the nation.

“We’re also seeing major upticks in institutional demand for digital infrastructure, and this is really increasing access to low-cost capital and it is also continuous for a number of things like activity, valuations, liquidity in the markets,” says Hunt. “We are finding there are generally better valuations and higher yields today in the private markets when compared to public data center
