The Sacramento County Employees Retirement System (SCERS) has committed $35 million to Digital Colony Partners II, Digital Colony’s second fund dedicated to communications infrastructure.
Digital Colony Partners II is targeting a well-diversified portfolio across digital infrastructure assets, including communication towers, fiber, small-cell and data centers. The vehicle has a $6 billion fundraising target, according to Data Center Knowledge.
The fund has picked up a variety of other U.S. pension funds, including the New Jersey Division of Investment, the Virginia Retirement System, the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas, the Employees Retirement System of Texas and the Orange County (Calif.) Employees Retirement System.
