Deutsche Wohnen pays €680m for 39 nursing homes in Germany

German listed residential property owner Deutsche Wohnen has acquired 30 nursing homes in Germany for a combined €680 million ($775 million).

The portfolio totaled approximately 4,700 care places.

“We are consistently pursuing our growth strategy in the nursing and assisted living segment through the planned acquisitions of nursing facilities with above-average qualities and locations,” said Michael Zahn, CEO of Deutsche Wohnen SE. “With over 12,000 care places, we are one of the largest owners of nursing properties in Germany and will therefore benefit greatly from the positive macro trends in the nursing market.”
