IN-DEPTH: Columbia Threadneedle acquires Lionstone

Lionstone Partners has partnered with Columbia Threadneedle to become its U.S. real estate platform.

“Lionstone was looking for a strategic partner to accelerate our strategy of moving further into developing advanced analytics that help shape how we make better investments,” says Jane Page, CEO of Lionstone Partners.

This week IREN reported Columbia Threadneedle’s acquisition of Lionstone. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close later this year.

Lionstone specializes in investment strategies based upon proprietary analytics and manages approximately $6 billion in assets.

Page adds, “The acquisition made a lot of sense because we are compatible. We both have the DNA of using research and using the analytics to help shape consistent and attractive investments on behalf of our clients.”
