Pension Denmark, Danica Pension, Doctors’ Pension and Navigare Capital Partners have partnered to form Maritime Investment Fund II, the second fund in the series of maritime funds.
Managed by Copenhagen-based alternative investment fund manager Navigare Capital Partners, the fund looks to build a diversified portfolio of vessels let to operators on varying length contracts to secure long stable cash flows, according to a statement by Pension Denmark.
The previous fund in the series, which closed with DKK 450 million ($66 million) was successfully invested in vessels chartered on long-term contracts, valued at roughly DKK 1 billion ($147 million).
The three main investors, PensionDanmark, Danica Pension and Doctors’ Pension, along with Navigare Capital Partners, have committed to invest more than DKK 300 million ($44 million) in the latest fund. The fund aims to attract other investors for future commitments.
