Danish pension fund invests $8b in real estate

PFA, a Danish pension fund, has invested DKK100 billion ($14 billion) into unlisted investments, of which more than half include real estate.

The pension fund noted that in recent years it has accumulated Denmark’s largest portfolio of property investments worth approximately DKK 57 billion ($8 billion), excluding commitments, which range from rental properties to student housing in Denmark to shared office spaces in London and joint laboratories in the United States.

“PFA looks into the future mega-trends for our property investments and has accumulated a diversified portfolio allowing PFA to take part in ensuring both an all-round housing supply of rental properties in growth cities across Denmark and in international developments within shared office concepts and support of increased e-commerce,” said Allan Polack, group CEO of PFA. “In coming years, we will focus more of our attention on other countries than Denmark, among these Europe, Asia and the United
