CVC DIF, the infrastructure strategy of global private markets manager CVC, has agreed to acquire 49 percent of BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien, the biogas subsidiary of German gas company VNG AG.
BALANCE produces renewable energy at its 42 biogas and biomethane plants in northern and eastern Germany, with a total installed rated thermal output of about 197 megawatts. The company is one of the largest biogas plant operators in the country, supplying green energy to more than 180,000 households every year. In addition to generating green energy in the form of biogas, heat, and electricity, BALANCE invests in and develops existing and new plant concepts along its value chain.
