CPP Investments make senior executive appointments

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) has made several senior executive changes and appointments.

CPP Investments has appointed Edwin Cass to the newly-created role of CIO. As the firm’s first dedicated CIO, Cass will work closely with the CEO, the chief financial and risk officer, and investment department leaders.

Since joining CPP Investments in 2008, Cass has held various positions within public markets and served as the organization’s chief investment strategist. Most recently, he was the global head of real assets. Prior to CPP Investments, Cass held senior positions at Fortress Management Group, Deutsche Bank Canada and TD Securities.

The CIO role was created to address the anticipated size and scale of CPP Investments by 2025 and beyond.
