Cornwall Pension Fund backs Octopus Energy Transition Fund with $50m commitment

Cornwall Pension Fund has announced a £40 million ($50 million) commitment to the Octopus Energy Transition Fund (OETF), managed by Octopus Energy Generation.

OETF was launched in May 2023 to invest in innovative green projects accelerating the energy transition. The £500 million ($628 million) fund is raising capital from institutional investors for opportunities in fast-growing sectors decarbonizing the economy, including heating, storage, transport and more.

Last year, OETF launched with an investment in Cornwall, England-based heat pump business Kensa Group to scale the rollout of heat pumps in Britain. The fund also invested £200 million ($251 million) into Deep Green, a disruptor scaling groundbreaking data center
