Copenhagen Infrastructure V adds $535m commitment from Swedish insurance company Folksam

Folksam, one of the largest insurance companies in Sweden, has invested SEK 5.6 billion ($535 million) in Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V), the fifth flagship fund of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP).

In July, the investment vehicle completed its first closing, with €5.6 billion ($6.1 billion) in capital commitments from a large group of top institutional investors across continental Europe, the Nordics, the United Kingdom, North America and Asia Pacific.

Jakob Baruël Poulsen, managing partner for CIP, said Swedish institutions are an important part of the firm’s investor base and represent almost SEK 20 billion ($2 billion) in commitments in CIP’s five fund strategies.
