Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) plans to acquire the 255-megawatt/1,020-megawatt-hour Scatter Wash standalone battery-storage project in Phoenix from Strata Clean Energy, a renewable-energy developer, owner and operator.
Scatter Wash commenced construction earlier this year and is scheduled to reach commercial operations in the first half of 2025. The project secured financing in February 2024 from a consortium of lenders led by J.P. Morgan and Nomura and included a tax-equity commitment from U.S. Bancorp.
Strata Clean Energy also secured a 20-year tolling agreement for the Scatter Wash project with Arizona Public Service (APS), the largest electric utility in Arizona, in 2023.
Following the transaction, Strata will continue to serve as construction and asset manager for the project.
