Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ 96MW South Korean wind farm achieves commercial operations

Jeonnam 1, a 96-megawatt offshore wind project off the coast of South Korea jointly developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), SK Innovation E&S and CIP’s Flagship Fund III has begun commercial operations.

Jeonnam Offshore Wind 1 is the first commercial-scale offshore wind project in South Korea. The project is set to produce 301 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually —– enough to power about 90,000 households for a year.

Construction on Jeonnam 1 started in early 2023 with turbine installation commencing in September 2024. Jeonnam Offshore Wind 1 delivered its first power in November 2024 and began commercial operations on schedule.
