Connexin secures $103m investment from Whitehelm Capital

Smart-city operator Connexin has raised an initial £80 million ($103 million) in funding from Whitehelm Capital to support its business expansion plans.

Connexin is looking to strengthen its foothold in the smart infrastructure and internet-of-things (IoT) sector and meet the expected growth in demand for smart networks in U.K. cities.

“Now more than ever, we have been taught by the pandemic the true value of technology and the societal benefits that it has for citizens,” said Furqan Alamgir, founder and CEO of Connexin. “This financing further validates the digital transformation we have delivered within cities, communities and the utility sector through our leadership and innovation in the smart infrastructure and IoT space.”
