The Pentland Floating Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland, developed by flagship funds managed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, has secured a total of £150 million ($197 million) from the National Wealth Fund, Great British Energy and The Scottish National Investment Bank. Each entity will have the option to invest up to £50 million ($66 million) in the project, according to CIP.
Once operational, the project will generate enough green electricity to power up to 70,000 homes while accelerating the industrialization of floating offshore wind (FLOW) in the United Kingdom.
The project, being developed by Highland Wind, will deploy a number of innovative technologies to help accelerate the industrialization of FLOW while delivering significant benefits to the local economy. This signals confidence in the United Kingdom’s FLOW sector, encouraging engineering firms — especially in Scotland — to pivot from oil and gas and prepare to compete in a growing market, accor
