CIP enters partnership with German geothermal developer

by Released

DEW and CIP, on behalf of the fund Copenhagen Infrastructure III K/S (CI III), have entered into a partnership regarding the development of a portfolio of geothermal energy projects in the upper Rhine valley of Germany.

The partnership brings together DEW’s experience within the deep geothermal energy sector and CIP’s track record in developing, constructing and operating large renewable energy projects.

The geothermal projects will generate electricity by pumping up hot water of +100 degrees Celsius from 3 to 5 kilometer depth. Geothermal is a long-term sustainable energy source with examples of wells that have been operating for more than 50 years and still produce energy today. Geothermal technology provides base load power.

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners K/S is a fund management company focused on energy infrastructure. CIP currently manages four funds: Copenhagen Infrastructure I K/S (CI I), CI Artemis K/S (CI A), Copenhagen Infrastructure II K/S (CI II), and Copenhagen Infrastructure III K/S (CI III).
