Chindata Group, a carrier-neutral hyperscale data center solution provider in the Asia Pacific emerging market, has signed a contract with a landowner in Malaysia and launched a new greenfield project located in Johor State with a capacity of more than 80 megawatts, to be delivered to its anchor client in several phases starting from 2022.
This new project will implement the newly innovated high-efficiency cooling technology developed by the company.
In expanding into new markets in the Asia Pacific region, Chindata Group is close to finalizing a strategic acquisition in Bangkok. The project, upon completion of the technical upgrade, will host 5 megawatts of IT capacity and be capable of supporting key clients’ business development in Southeast Asia. It will be the first project for Chindata Group in Thailand. As of Sept. 30, Chindata Group's IT capacity reached 56 megawatts in Malaysia, India and Thailand.
