China Mobile International (CMI) has commenced operations at its first overseas data center in Singapore.
Located in the Tai Seng Industrial Park, the facility was built and is fully owned by CMI. It spans approximately 17,490 square meters (188,260square feet) and houses more than 2,100 racks.
Once operational, it will serve more than 909 mobile subscribers and connect seamlessly with Asia Pacific, Indian Ocean, Europe, the Middle East and Africa through submarine cable systems.
It is labeled with a TIER III standard, but is Tier IV-ready, according to CMI.
The Singapore facility is also the company’s second data center in its Asia Pacific cloud network. CMI also operates a global network center in Hong Kong, as well as data centers in London, Frankfurt, Germany and San Jose, Calif.
