China: What international investors should consider

Is China headed for a soft or hard landing? Given geopolitical concerns, the country’s zero-COVID policy and liquidity crisis challenging developers in the nation’s residential market, how investable is China’s property and infrastructure market now and going forward for international investors?

These were some of the questions tackled by investors, investment managers and consultants in a Nov. 16 virtual roundtable held by Institutional Real Estate, Inc. and moderated by IREI’s Reno Sio, managing director, Asia Pacific. The in-depth discussions follow those held during the in-person Editorial Advisory Board meeting for Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific in late October, which took place on the heels of the 20th Party Congress of the Chinese Communist Party.
