China aids El Salvador in infrastructure buildout

by Kali Persall

China, the world’s second-largest economy, has pledged to help El Salvador build several major infrastructure projects, Reuters reported on Dec. 3.

The projects will include a large sports stadium, a water treatment plant and a multi-story library. China will also assist at coastal tourist sites by building streets, parks and a water system along the beaches known as Surf City, and restaurants and shops on the Puerto de la Libertad pier.

The planned investment amount for the infrastructure developments were not disclosed.
