Chicago Teachers to invest $25m in Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V

by Kali Persall

Chicago Public School Teachers' Pension & Retirement Fund has earmarked $25 million for the Macquarie Infrastructure Partners V fund, managed by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets.

Opened in January, Fund V will invest in a diversified range of infrastructure assets throughout North America. These include energy, ports, telecommunications, transportation and water.

The commitment builds on an existing relationship with Macquarie.

As of June 30, 2019, Chicago Teachers had a 2 percent allocation to the infrastructure asset class.
