Chicago-area mansion asks record price

by Andrea Zander

A Lincoln Park, Ill., mansion that was listed from 2016 until 2018 for $50 million — the Chicago area’s highest asking price ever — came back on the market with a lower price of $45 million, reported local media outlets.

Richard Parrillo, United Automobile Insurance Co. chairman and CEO, and his wife, Michaela, own the mansion. They built the mansion, spending $65 million, about a decade ago after paying $12.5 million in 2005 to purchase the site from the Infant Welfare Society.

With the reduced listing it still exceeds what the Cook County assessor believes the home is worth. The assessor’s office last year valued the mansion at $19.36 million, according to the Chicago Tribune. In the Chicago-area, a home sale has never been above $20 million.
