The Scottish National Investment Bank has appointed former MetLife managing director Eilidh Mactaggart as CEO, according to several news sources.
According to the Scottish government, the bank was created to “support ambitious companies and important infrastructure projects,” and is expected to have the potential “to transform and grow Scotland’s economy.” The Scottish Government is planning to invest £2 billion ($2.5 billion) over 10 years to capitalize the bank.
The bank is expected to be operational in the second half of 2020.
In her previous role at MetLife, Mactaggart headed European infrastructure and project finance. Prior to that, she served as director of Commonwealth Bank, where she focused on infrastructure, project finance and utilities.
