CenterPoint Energy, a Houston-based energy delivery company with regulated utility businesses in eight states, has appointed 40-year energy industry veteran John Somerhalder II as interim president and chief executive officer.
Somerhalder will succeed Scott Prochazka, who recently stepped down from the role, until a permanent CEO has been found. The company has formed a subcommittee of the board to support the selection process.
Somerhalder has worked as a director of CenterPoint Energy since 2016 and also serves as director and trustee on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations.
