CBRE Global Investors adds $170m for U.K. Affordable Housing Fund

CBRE Global Investors has raised an additional £120 million ($170 million) of equity for its U.K. Affordable Housing Fund (AHF), one of the first unlisted funds targeting institutional client capital into affordable housing across the United Kingdom.

Investors in the open-ended strategy include international and U.K. corporate and public pension funds and insurance companies. U.K. LGPS investors, such as Hampshire County Council Pension Fund, Rhondda Cynon Taf Pension Fund, Wiltshire Pension Fund, Surrey County Council Pension Scheme, Bedfordshire Pension Fund and Royal Borough of Greenwich Pension Fund, contributed to the investment proposition.

AHF’s strategy is to invest in high-quality affordable rental, PRS, shared-ownership, key worker and temporary accommodation schemes. The fund’s portfolio includes schemes with registered providers such as VIVID, Oak Housing and Pinnacle Group.
