Taiwan–based Cathay Life Insurance Co. has committed $100 million to Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners, an open-end fund managed by Brookfield Asset Management.
The fund is looking to invest in infrastructure assets, such as transportation and utilities, in the United States. The vehicle opened to investors in 2018.
Cathay Life joins numerous pension funds in backing the fund, including the Alameda County (Calif.) Employees’ Retirement Association, Iowa Public Employees Retirement System, San Mateo County (Calif.) Employees Retirement Association, South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority and Sweden’s Alecta Pensionforsakring.
Cathay Life could not be reached to comment on the investment at the time of publication.
