Canada’s infrastructure bank to invest $10b

by Andrea Zander

The Canadian government has plans to spend $10 billion on infrastructure, aiming to create 60,000 jobs by expanding access to high-speed internet, building out agricultural irrigation infrastructure in western provinces and greening transit fleets, reported The Canadian Press.

The investment plan is part of the government’s plan to create 1 million jobs and revive the economy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It also is intended to help the government meet its goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
