Brookfield is in talks to buy two offices of Plantation Place in the City of London for a combined £870 million (€958 million/$1billion), according to media outlets.
The seller is Safra Group, a Brazilian banking and investment empire founded by the late billionaire Moise Safra, who passed away in 2014. He co-founded Banco Safra with his brothers Edmond Safra and Joseph Safra.
Originally developed by British Land in 2004, the 550,000-square-foot office building on Fenchurch Street was bought by Safra in 2012 for around £470 million (€517 million/$570 million).
