Boston Retirement System backs Centerbridge, Kayne Anderson funds

by Kali Persall

At its Oct. 20 meeting, the $6.6 billion Boston Retirement System moved forward $60 million of investments in two opportunistic real estate funds, Centerbridge Partners Real Estate Fund II and Kayne Anderson Real Estate Partners VI (KAREP VI). Each fund received $30 million.

Centerbridge Partners Real Estate Fund II, managed by Centerbridge Partners, seeks to raise $2 billion to invest in real estate assets in the United States.

KAREP VI, managed by Kayne Anderson Real Estate, also targets $2 billion and primarily will invest in healthcare-related real estate, such as medical offices, senior housing, and student housing.
