Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, the largest Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) pool, has committed £48.5 million ($62 million) to Capital Dynamics’ Clean Energy U.K. Fund, marking the first commitment within Border to Coast’s U.K. Opportunities private markets program.
Capital Dynamics’ Clean Energy U.K. Fund will finance the construction of onshore solar and wind farms as well as battery storage. This investment will fund the construction of the fund’s first four onshore wind investments in Scotland with a combined capacity of 193 megawatts, or enough to power 46,000 homes upon completion. The companies said additional sites are in the pipeline.
For all investments, the Clean Energy U.K. Fund secures long-term, fixed-price power-purchase agreements.
“We are delighted that Border to Coast, via its U.K. Opportunities strategy, has chosen to join other global institutional clients in committing to our Clean Energy U.K. Fund,” said Barney Col
