Blackstone, Macquarie and F2i mull partnership with Italy’s CDP ahead of motorway bid

Major infrastructure firms Blackstone, Macquarie and F2i are discussing a partnership with Italy’s state lender Cassa Despositi e Prestiti (CDP) through which the groups will submit a joint bid for an 88 percent stake in Atlantia’s motorway unit, Autostrade per l’Italia, Reuters reports.

Infrastructure group Atlantia said it has entered into exclusive talks with CDP until Oct. 18 over the sale of the motorway assets. The group is reportedly open to considering a potential offer from CDP and other investors.

Reuters reported the groups were also discussing a price-adjustment strategy that would allow the buyer to cut the acquisition price for Autostrade to account for future damage claims linked to a bridge collapse.
