Blackstone Infrastructure Partners hires former Brookfield executive

Blackstone Infrastructure Partners (BIP) has hired Jonathan Kelly, former managing partner and head of Europe at Brookfield Infrastructure, as a senior managing director and head of European infrastructure for the firm.

BIP focuses on investing across all infrastructure sectors, including transportation, energy, communications, and water and waste. In his new role, Kelly will be responsible for building out a dedicated European infrastructure team and sourcing investment opportunities across the region. He will work out of Blackstone’s London office, effective April 6.

“Jon’s exceptional investment track record across a wide range of sectors and his experience leading teams in the region make him the ideal choice as we seek to grow our presence in the sizable European infrastructure market,” noted Sean Klimczak, global head of infrastructure at Blackstone. “We look forward to his future contributions to BIP’s success.”
