Blackstone and Global Infrastructure Partners in talks for $17b rail line

Blackstone Group and Global Infrastructure Partners are in talks to acquire the $17 billion Class I railroad carrier Kansas City Southern (KSU), reported The Wall Street Journal.

Kansas City Southern is the smallest of the nation’s Class I railroads, with revenue of $2.87 billion in 2019. Its lines run north from Texas through Kansas City, Mo., to Illinois and southwest to the Louisiana coast and Birmingham, Ala.
