Blackstone buys two office towers in Boston

CIM Group, in partnership with Nordblom Co., has sold 1000 Washington St. and 321 Harrison Ave. in Boston. The sales price was not disclosed.

The two adjacent office towers were acquired by funds managed by Blackstone Real Estate Partners and will be operated by BioMed Realty, an owner and operator of life sciences buildings in Boston/Cambridge.

After acquiring the properties in 2017, CIM Group and Nordblom Co. repositioned the assets: 1000 Washington St., an 11-story, 242,000-square-foot office building, was renovated into class A office space; and 321 Harrison Ave., an adjacent three-story parking garage, was redeveloped by adding eight additional floors above the existing structure to create a new 11-story, 233,000-square-foot office building.
