Blackstone brings on Amisha Parekh as new global head of ESG for private equity

Blackstone has appointed Amisha Parekh as its new global head of ESG for private equity, the firm announced on Oct. 7.

Parekh will be a managing director sitting within the firm’s portfolio operations group, where she will lead ESG diligence, policy development and strategy, and reporting for all businesses in the private equity reporting segment.

Parekh joins the firm from Bloomberg, where she most recently led ESG data acquisition and curation efforts and was instrumental in launching the firm’s sustainable finance product offering as head of sustainable finance product incubation. Prior to joining Bloomberg, Parekh was a senior manager at Deloitte.

Blackstone said Parekh’s hire represents the firm’s continued commitment to value creation through deepening ESG integration across the investment lifecycle and placing ESG at the core of its operational intervention and asset management strategy.
