BlackRock raises $566.6m for debt fund

BlackRock has raised $566.58 million for its Carbon Capital VI fund, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising efforts.

Carbon Capital VI, which opened in 2016, will invest in debt secured by U.S. properties. The properties will include office, industrial multifamily and retail. The fund seeks to raise $750 million in total equity commitments.

The fund previously received a $150 million commitment from the $186.2 billion Florida State Board of Administration.

The fund’s predecessor, Carbon Capital V, had raised $386 million in 2014. The fund was seeking to raise $400 million in total. The fund also received a $150 million commitment from the Florida State Board of Administration.
