BlackRock closes Global Renewable Power Fund III at $4.8b

BlackRock Real Assets has completed a $4.8 billion final close of its Global Renewable Power Fund III, the third vintage of BlackRock’s Global Renewable Power fund series and fifth fund overall.

The fund was backed by more than 100 institutional investors, including major public and private pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations and family offices from more than 18 countries globally. The list of investors includes the Connecticut Office of the Treasurer, the Illinois State Universities Retirement System, Japan-based Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co., the New York State Common Retirement Fund, the City and County of Swansea Pension Fund and North East Scotland Pension Fund (NESPF) in the United Kingdom, and the Ann Arbor (Mich.) Employees' Retirement System.
