Luxembourg-based investment company BBGI SICAV SA has disclosed investment deals in two Canadian provinces, according to Morningstar.
The first investment increases the company’s interest in the Stanton Territorial Hospital project in Yellowknife, Canada, from 25 percent to 50 percent. The hospital spans 27,000 square meters (290,625 square feet) and features 100 patient rooms. BBGI paid less than £10 million ($12.8 million) for the stake, which includes a concession running through 2048.
In addition, BBGI, along with its consortium partners, was selected as the preferred bidder for a motorway project in Canada. The concession contract will run until 2043.
Construction of the project is expected to start in spring, with completion expected in 2023.
BBGI invests mainly in a portfolio of operational public-private-partnership/private-finance initiative infrastructure assets.
