Barings has raised $468.3 million for its second European value-add real estate fund according to a form filed with the SEC in March.
Like its predecessor, Barings’ Real Estate European Value Add Fund II will continue to focus on repositioning and build-to-core opportunities in supply-constrained locations in major western European markets, focusing on the office, logistics and alternative retail sectors.
The fund is seeking to raise €750 million ($825 million) and requires a minimum investment of €10 million ($11 million).
Three investors have committed to the fund, including the Kentucky Retirement Systems (KRS) and MassMutual Life Insurance Co., which owns Barings.
Fund II is a sub-fund of Barings Umbrella Fund (LUX) SCSp SICAV-RAIF.
