Barings raises $201m for debt fund

Barings Real Estate Advisers has raised $201.45 million for its Barings Real Estate Credit Strategies VII fund, according to a filing with the SEC. The firm did not comment on its fundraising activity.

Barings Real Estate Credit Strategies VII is a real estate fund that will invest in U.S. debt secured by properties with core investment strategies. The closed-end fund opened in April 2016 with a $500 million equity fundraising target.

The fund had raised $100 million in equity commitments August 2016, according to a filing with the SEC.
