by Kali Persall

The Baltimore Fire and Police Retirement System has committed $15 million each to the Carlyle Renewable and Sustainable Energy Fund (RSEF) and ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III.

These were first-time commitments with these managers, according to a spokesperson for the pension fund.

As of March 2020, the RSEF had collected $136.8 million in capital commitments against an unknown fundraising target. The fund contributed to The Carlyle Group’s recent investment in Canada’s Amp Solar Group.

The other fund, ISQ Global Infrastructure Fund III, managed by I Squared Capital Advisors, opened to investors in August 2020. As of September 2020, Fund III had raised $1.65 billion in commitments against a target of $12
