The Baltimore City Fire and Police Employees’ Retirement System generated a return of 9.76 percent for the fiscal year that ended June 30, just below its 9.84 percent benchmark.
The system’s private real assets investments, valued at $177.8 million, generated a 6.03 percent return for the fiscal year.
A total of $324 million of the system’s $3.25 billion portfolio is allocated toward real estate. Those investments yielded a loss of 2.09 percent during the fiscal year, outperforming a benchmark loss of 5.29 percent.
