Axpo sells 74.5MW wind portfolio to Encavis Asset Management

Axpo has sold a 74.5-megawatt portfolio of five newly constructed wind farms in France to the Encavis Infrastructure Fund II, a special institutional investment fund managed by Encavis Asset Management.

The deal includes a total of 29 wind power plants, which were developed by Volkswind, a subsidiary of Axpo, and commissioned between January and June 2021. They have a combined average annual production of around 175,000 megawatt hours of electricity, enough to power 37,000 households.

“The construction and subsequent sale of wind farms is an important pillar of our strategy to increase added value from our renewable energies business,” said Christoph Sutter, head of renewables at Axpo. “Thanks to the abundant Volkswind development pipeline, we generated substantial revenues in previous years and want to continue on this course. The strong demand for such investments in the French market places us in an excellent position.”
