Aviva Investors appoints ED Dixon to new ESG role

Aviva Investors has appointed Ed Dixon in the newly created role of head of environmental, social and governance (ESG), real assets, effective Sept. 16.

He will be responsible for the firm’s ESG program for Aviva Investors’ £45 billion ($56 million) real assets platform, which encompasses real estate, infrastructure and private debt. He will lead the firm’s ESG strategy in real assets across investment, development and asset management. Dixon will be based in London and report to Melanie Collett, head of asset management, real estate.

Dixon joins Aviva from Landsec, where he served as sustainability director for more than three years. Prior to that, he held positions at Mace, Marks and Spencer, and Simons Group, according to LinkedIn. Dixon brings 17 years of industry experience to his new role.

Dixon graduated from the sustainability leadership program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and earned his MBA from Cass Business School.
